This can be considered an economic issue, also. The cost of supporting those in this country illegally is staggering. Welfare benefits should not be granted to those here illegally.

Providing amnesty is not the answer.

As for local law enforcement, I concur with (former) Sheriff Carona that those committing federal felonies (illegal/undocumented aliens) should be deported. Children born of two illegal aliens in this country should not automatically have citizenship rights.

I also support the belief that the borders of this country should be hardened. People want to come visit? By all means. Come and spend your money. When you're done visiting, go home.

Federal law should be enforced by Federal authorities and not by local Police agencies once the line is crossed all we have to do is to add or subtract this to fine tune the purpose. For example, the Phoenix Chief of Police interpretation is to remove all illegals regardless if they commit any crimes. We cannot allow each local agency to interpret Federal immigration law.

Law, system, illegal..... What is all this hate, this attitude, all this fallacy? Please let everyone be. This place is nobody land. We all are outsiders, but the Native Americans.

All I heard from this documentary was that they were going to enforce the LAW on those who have previous felonies. As an immigrant of course I want THOSE people out of here, they threaten the original purpose of having our parents bring us here in the first place.

With the world as crazy as it is, it's hard not to look at this country and wonder why not. Why not move there and see if we can achieve happiness. It's not a bad ideology. What I am trying to say is, fine, build a bigger fence. Send those criminal aliens back where they came from. Just don't make it illegal to pursue a better life. Those people that are in line outside the US, they do so because they are not parked next to this country, else they would. Anyone would and will.

The problem starts on the inside. YES get those employers to have more accountability. YES get a system in place where new illegals are not allowed inside. But NO, don't ciminalize the ones who are already here working hard to make it day by day like any other LEGAL person.

I know,I'm not in L.A.,or Orange cty, but,I am so tired of Villaraigosa circumventing Federal law, because he doesn't care about what the citizens want. the only ones in the majority who support him on sp40,are Mexicans or latinos in office. The Mexicans who are here illegally, will not go to the police anyway, because their fellow criminals threaten them to not talk to the police,or they will die.
This is what we get by having a latino Mayor,or holding any other office in government. They are going to advance their own philosophies against legal citizens in every way they can, including, overloading the police force with latino officers, thereby, allowing his countrymen to acheive office also.
The Federal Government should stop all Federal funds from being distributed to the City of L.A.,for their sanctuary city status,as they should for all cities doing the same, and the circumvention of Federal law.

Wow, was there some sort of plot to "get" Carona? Though he does sound guilty.

The interview with DA candidates Ipsen and Robles was telling and very eye-opening. Cooley has held himself ABOVE politics and SP40.

I like to request to the state police department to arrest the illegal aliens or the out of status aliens like working without security identification, and no proper documentation processing to the immigration, criminals are normally to be arrested and out of status undocumented aliens are criminals too because they break the law, working without paying taxes probably earned money and send it out to their home country is condered as part of big problem in the US economy slowly

I have many Hispanic and Asian Friends who were legal here who have decided to go back to their country of origins because they miss their countries and with the sinking value of the dollar felt that they were being exploited; other uneducated illegals who illegally enter this country and are picketing on Wilshire Boulevard have told me that if they were to picket in their homelands that they would fear for their lives; Americans who go to Mexico have had drugs planted within their baggage and were arrested and held up for extortion payments as much as five to ten thousand dollars to be released.

We must cut off financial and business aid to these Hispanic and Asian countries which promote illegal immigration to the U.S. and institute massive deportation utilizing both local police working together with the INS and FBI and every other Agency working together to get our Country returned to us while instructing these countries to promote and subscribe to the United Nations Population Fund and Birth Control Policies. This must be a world wide policy so that there will be better lives for all peoples by reducing the over 250,000 daily world wide births which we have today where children are made to suffer and experience horrendous acts of violence, hunger and murder. With world wide birth control of 2 = 2 and preferably 2 = 1 for the next century; I want a world where we do not have to fear for any lost child who will only know acts of kindness, universal love, and freedom to play and develop rather than to be abused, exploited, suffer and be murdered.
