Find out what others are saying about this issue:
It is essential that the police are able to do their job of protecting the people. This involves making thorough investigations as quickly and easily as possible. If a segment of the population is afraid to report crimes because they fear it resulting in a life changing secondary affect (deportation) then we risk having these very people becoming targeted victims and the criminals not getting caught.

Thus it is important to keep these "status" investigations completely separate from the immediate "criminal" investigations. There is no reason that police cannot participate in INS investigations as a completely separate endeavour but only if fully trained and isolated from normal criminal investigations. Immigration must be dealt with separately for the sake of all residents.

The terminology is really irrelevant and actually seems pretty consistent based on the interviews.

If we were in Mexico with "Illegal Status, what would the Mexican Police do? I think all "out of status" people should be put back into legal status, by shippin' them home where they would be legal! I hate to see anyone break the law! The Act 40 in California is making it more dangerous for all legal Americans! My mother is an Immagrant, she did the paper work, stood in lines, waited her turn & took the test! And she even learned english. Her english is not perfect but she is understood, more & more every year.

I enjoyed your presentation on legal vs illegal status (i.e. "out of status"). I Don't have any comment at this time. But I do like the look of your site and I will look around a bit.For your interest.. I gave away my television six years ago, because I regard the value of todays "news" media to be nil, polluted by special interest propaganda. The internet is my chosen source for information now, and I feel that there is a place for alternate information sources such as yours on the internet today.

I would like to suggest that you investigate campaign financing in LA and California. Who's giving big money to who. I would like to see digging deep into Clean Money, Fair Elections (Publicly Funded Campaigns). There is bill A.B. 583 facing an Elections Committee vote on Monday the 25th. (too soon I think). Would it really help the state balance the budget? Would it bring California back into the race for the best State and State government?

I just viewed your web site page "Feds & Cops Parse Names for Immigrants". I must admit that what I heard did not suprise me.

I have been a bus driver in Los Angeles County For the former Southern California Rapid Transit District and now the Los Angeles County Metropolitian Transportation Authority. I have driven buses through some of the neighborhoods infested by some of the most violent gangs in the world. I have seen them making attacks on others and myself, using sticks, fists, knives, guns. I have seen them kill maim and wound each other and the innocents of the community. I have seen them go to sleep in the back
of the bus never to awaken with a syringe stuck in a blood vein in their arm. I have seen them sexually assault women on the buses. In 13 instances over 16 years I myself was a victim of their assaults. I also spent 1 year and seven months on disability as a result of those assaults. I have seen in my time there many, many attempts to commit fraud against individuals and companies making false accident claims. Deliberately causing accidents so as to file a claim against the bus companies. The people I am talking about are not all gang members, but they are all illegal aliens! All here illegally, all here to take what we have created that they want and to destroy all else that they do not want.

They are filling the empty houses and apartments and creating a housing shortage that has virtually destroyed the American Dream of home ownership in L.A. County. In the majority of cases one family or person will buy a house and then sub let a room to an entire family with as many as five families occupying one single family home. Apartment buildings are renting space to these illegals and I have been there and seen them. One area per floor with a community kitchen and only a few bath toilets and showers
shared by the occupants. They are filthy and stinking and infested with roaches, lice and other vermin. There are a good number of these places on 6th Street between Alvarado and Union in Los Angeles. I went into them!

I have witnessed illegals on the buses screaming out that they would kill any "La Migra" that tried to arrest or deport them. These people have no fear of any law enforcement nor of any consequences for their illegal entry into this country or any illegal acts committed after their illegal entry. They simply committ the crime regardless of what it is, and if the cops get after then they get back accross the border untill the heat dies down and hte then return to committ more crimes. These illgal aliens are
murdering our sons, daughters, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, and grandfathers. They are raping violently our sons and daughters and wives. No one is free of the threat of illegals. I spent two and one half years as a combat medic in Vietnam, and I can truthfully say that I was in a safer place in Vietnam that I am here on the streets of L.A. At least in Vietnam I could shoot back, here It is not politically correct to return fire or you are tried for a crime. Our basic rights and freedoms even those guaranteed in the Constitution are being denied us by the very people who are in position to serve us, and those elected to
political office. All these officials are perpetuating a scam on the Citizens of this community and country. They are holding us to the ground and allowing this invading horde from across our southern border to cut our throats economically and physically. The only answer to the problem, remove those inlocal politics and replace them with people who will ensure the rights of U.S. Citizens, and enforce the lawes we have!

I was also a police officer as a much younger man, and in the oath all police officers take, they state that they will enforce all laws, not just local ordinances biut they enforce state law and Federal law to include immigration law. Any officer who does not enforce all law is not doing his job! Special Order 40 is a scam it's self and should be struck down in a federal hearing based on the fact that no municipality or state has the authority to circumvent federal law. The can enact law more severe or with harsher consequences but they are in violation of federal law to enact local laws that reduce, minimize or prevent the enforcement of federal law!

Its real simple, illegal aliens are all criminals they should all be apparehended and deported as soon as possible. All of the rest is just word games.

Illegal alien is an illegal alien.I'm tired of this political correctness from politicians as my city is being destroyed. No wonder Bernard Parks was fired. He couldn't even pass the cadet exam for the LAPD, and he had the chutzpah to run for mayor-let's hear it for the race card issue. If you break the law for entering this country illegally you must be sent back (unless your life
and liberty are at stake. However liberals don't care about life and liberty if you are a child who's parents died liberating you from a hostile dictator, loved by Hollywood. In that case the Attorney General has the FBI storm your house with machine guns and rip the child from the arms of loving family, sent back to a sperm donor of a father in a fascist evil island south of Miami. But arrest an illegal alien from Mexico who has exhausted our resources from the county of Los Angeles like hospitals, schools, Medi-Cal, Food Stamps, Welfare which increases with each new mouth to feed...no way. That's not what a kinder and gentler nation
does. "Give us your tired and your poor", even if they are convicted felons in the US as well as in their native country. Hey,it's OK if another hospital has to close due to millions of dollars lost per year that are unreimburable due to illegal aliens.

Isn't it wonderful that an illegal alien gets a better break for tuition than an American citizen that pays taxes for the state college! Now that's heart.I am not against immigration. My grandparents went through Ellis Island from Eastern Europe LEGALLY.I'm against breaking the law. I've been prosecuted more for a speeding ticket on PCH in Malibu than some guy from Mexicali for a gang shooting. That's why I voted for Moore, the only candidate for mayor with the guts to fight this battle. We need to secure the borders, have our city cooperate with federal and state authorities, especially due to the threat of Muslim fundamentalists waiting
to blow us up. As of now, they can walk in from Canada or Mexico quite easily. This is not an anti latino issue, it's life and death. But you cannot sidestep the financial implications of millions of people from Latin America living here illegally sucking the life out of our state. We need to rid this city from stupid but politically correct politicians ASAP.
