I'm technically homeless because of the illegal decisions of the Housing Commission; and the illegal favors given to landlords by the City Council; and decisions given by Los Angeles Judges who themselves own apartment houses. I had affordable housing, but Wendy Gruel; Janice Hahn; Ed Reyes; Jack weiss all voted to have me unlawfully evicted. The Mayor should be sent back to Mexico along with these illegal procreating Hispanics and Aisians. |

Sad Commentary for all police chief
run departments. Politicians and city managers without law enforcement expertise are calling the shots. At least Sheriffs are accountable to the community they serve. They are much stronger than any top cop working for the city administration. |

It all depends on what your definition of IS IS. This guy would make a great running mate for Hillary - he sure won't make it getting the crooks off the st. |

Chief Bratton is a sell out to the mayor. The mayor is an ex gang member, four time bar association flunky and a two timer with his eyes set on the Governorship. The Mayor, and by association, the Chief of Police Bratton, cares not for the best interests of the City Of Los Angeles. Can you say corruption? With Bratton's continuing support of special order 40, he therefore supports the Mayor's continuing support of Los Angeles as a sanctuary city. By being strictly gun control oriented and by not allowing citizens to protect themselves by issuing concealed weapons permits Bratton again bends over backwards for the Mayor. The chief agreed to do the Mayor's bidding in exchange for supporting his new term renewal as the Chief of Police. Just pathetic. Who would want to do business or work as a policeman in the City of Los Angeles? The city is lost if the people don't wake up and start making the politicians accountable. |

it is a real shame that we in the united states of america have this kind of looking over what ever illegals do and they are treated special. this is a shame, because we have laws and the american citizens have to go by the laws, it is a shame that the american people are being treated the way they are because of president bush and his destroying america, and our constitution. you are very sick people, you will pay the price when the lord and savior comes back. because you all will pay for what you have done, once this was a wwonderful place to live and raise your chilren, until president bush came to destroy it. |

It's almost as if Chief Bratton was in a restrictive straightjacket in his interview with Leslie. He could theoretically be a great police chief, but the Mayor tells him that he must love illegal immigrants, and bend the laws around them. If the Chief had any honor, he would resign rather than put up with the Mayor's reconquista agenda. But I guess he needs this job.
Special order 40 began in 1979. Within a few years, MacArthur Park was taken over by the drug dealers, driving out the people who truly enjoyed the park. Special order 40 made it harder to deport illegals, which encouraged even more illegal immigration. In exchange for this, we are told that illegals who witness crimes are more likely (but not 100 % certain) to come forward with information, which might not even be enough to solve the crime.
I could tell throughout the whole interview that Bratton, in his straightjacket, didn't really believe in his own answers and replies. Instead he was merely making replies that he knew the Mayor would approve of.
The Chief was unusually silent on the issue of alleged police abuse at the MacArthur Park Mayday Melee. He said previously that he didn't want to talk about it anymore. This is because he knows, deep down within, that his officers were undeservedly discredited that day. But he was ordered by the Mayor not to talk about it, as a pre-requisite for the Chief to be awarded a second 5-year term. |

Chief Bratton:
You're in favor of illegal immigrants! Why weren't you in the crowd throwing rocks at your own men??? That's what you're doing when you throw them under the bus to please your Mexican first, American second Mayor. TRAITOR. And you call yourself a cop? |

Let's see...total idiot in Portland OR; degraded beyond that in Washington D.C....who or what chunk of fecal foolishness decided to hire him in LA? Take 'em both (or more, if there are such) out to get fitted for a Saddam-necktie. Thus should be the rewards of treason. |

Chief Bratton should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting Illegal Immigration. While he panders to the Illegal community, Southern California is becoming a third world cesspool.
He supports Illegal behavior and this is called Anarchy.
What part of the 2nd amendment does he not understand?
Bratton is a gun grabbing pro Illegal Immigrant traitor. |

Kathy: Special Order 40 was enacted by Chief Gates in 1979. You can watch a brief history of it here on our website. On the left side our this page, under Special Series, "Immigration Policies" click on the title of programs #409-410. There are video clips from previous LAPD Chiefs on the history of that Policy. Frankly I am shocked that as an LAPD officer you are unaware of this. Is it the term "Special Order 40" you are unfamiliar with or the policy of not asking individuals if they are in the county illegally? Leslie Dutton |
