University
of California Regent Ward Connerly, who chairs the Audit Committee, describes
to Full Disclosure Network® how
Regents conduct oversight and formulate policies of governance over the
multi-billion dollar state funded budget of the University system. This is the
first Full Disclosure Network® program to be cablecast on Access
Sacramento Channel #74 (Thursday, July 11th at 8 p.m.) The Sacramento cable channel is the newest
addition to the Full Disclosure Network® which for the last ten years has been seen on some 40 cable
systems in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura,
San Luis Obispo and now Sacramento Counties.
Connerly,
told Full Disclosure Network® host Leslie Dutton that UC Regents are often
threatened by the “Latino Caucus” of the California Legislature. He said members of the caucus demand that
the Regents approve certain policies, at least one of which was deemed to be
illegal, or they threaten to block
approval for the University’s budget.
Full Disclosure Network® is billed as “the news behind the news,” and provides
a platform for local, state and federal leaders to conduct an open dialog with
a free flow of information for the benefit of residents of California. Guests provide accurate, first hand information on crucial
issues and viewers are invited to vote and comment on issues via a 1-800-number
and e-mail. Full Disclosure Network®
has developed a loyal following in Southern California having expanded from one
cable station in Santa Monica in 1992 to over 40 cable systems and one
satellite system, as a public service.
The long-running local cable
access show Full Disclosure Network® has been nominated for an LA Area Emmy Award. The Emmys will honor
the best in local TV at the Awards ceremony on Saturday, June 29th
at the Goldenson Theatre in No. Hollywood.
Leslie Dutton, executive
producer and host of the Marina del Rey based FULL
DISCLOSURE program said, “After a ten year struggle I finally feel I
have been invited to the ball. It is
certainly gratifying to be honored with an Emmy nomination.” “Full Disclosure Network® , is unique
and the topics, guests, and in-depth interviews presented are not available on
other local television channels”, she said.
The Full Disclosure Network®
Emmy-nominated series entitled “L.A.’s
War Against Terrorism” features Dutton’s interviews with law
enforcement, labor and elected leaders responsible for public safety while the
cities and the nation have been on high alert for future terrorist
attacks. The series provides in-depth
information regarding deliberations and recommendations on how local law
enforcement may interact with Federal agencies and new anti-terrorist legislation. Two episodes feature LAPD Chief Bernard
Parks.
