In this Cinderella Story, the
long-running local cable access show Full Disclosure Network® has been
nominated for an LA Area Emmy Award. The Emmys will honor the best in local TV
at the Awards ceremony on Saturday, June 29th at the Goldenson
Theatre in No. Hollywood.
Leslie Dutton, executive
producer and host of the Full Disclosure Network® program said, “After a ten year
struggle I finally feel I have been invited to the ball. It is certainly gratifying to be honored
with an Emmy nomination.” “FULL
DISCLOSURE, is unique and the topics, guests, and in-depth interviews
presented are not available on other local television channels”, she said.
Nominated in the
Informational/Public Affairs Series category, Full Disclosure Network® is
the only public-access-produced cable show and a rare occurrence in the overall
history of local Emmys. Other Emmy
categories are dominated by broadcast television stations and PBS Channels
nominations.
The Full Disclosure Network®
Emmy-nominated series entitled “L.A.’s
War Against Terrorism” features Dutton’s interviews with law
enforcement, labor and elected leaders responsible for public safety while the
city and the nation have been on high alert for future terrorist attacks. The series provides in-depth information
regarding deliberations and recommendations on how local law enforcement may
interact with Federal agencies and new anti-terrorist legislation. Two episodes feature LAPD Chief Bernard
Parks.
Full Disclosure Network® is billed as “the news behind the news,” and provides
a platform for local and federal leaders to conduct an open dialog with a free
flow of information for the benefit of residents in Southern California. Guests provide accurate, first hand
information on crucial issues and viewers are invited to vote and comment on
issues via a 1-800-number and e-mail.
This may explain why Full Disclosure Network® has developed such a
loyal following and has expanded from one cable station in Santa Monica to over
40 cable systems and one satellite system, as a public service.
Celebrating ten years of
unprecedented independent public-access television production, the FULL
DISCLOSURE program tackles sensitive and critical public policies such
as racial profiling, ethics in government, police corruption, immigration, and
Rule of Law issues Full Disclosure Network® is now featured on educational
and public access systems in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura and San Luis Obispo
Counties and supported by the Citizens Protection Alliance, a non-profit,
educational, tax exempt organization.
