Los Angeles, CA Full Disclosure Network® latest Gang Series provides a comprehensive exposé of the successes and failures of gang programs across the nation starting with the City of Los Angeles. Gang Wars revealing the Mayor’ Villaraigosa’s new multi-million dollar ideas being promulgated by his new Deputy Mayor Reverend Jeff Carr. Here is a preview of the first three parts in the series. Covering the latest $24 million dollar strategy called the “Gang Reduction and Youth Development program.
Featured in this ten minute preview, the following experts:
- David R. Hernandez, Los Angeles civic activist who says this new program is doomed to failure because the officials are ignoring or concealing an all-out race war between local gangs.
- L.A. Deputy Mayor Reverend Jeff Carr, the Mayor’s new “Gang Czar” is planning to augment the current suppression effort by law enforcement with Mayor Villaraigosa's two prong strategy, prevention and intervention using gang members who he feels can be “redeemed”.
- Sgt. Richard Valdemar, a 32 year veteran of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department who is an International Gang specialist predicts that the use of gang members to intervene during gang violence is absurd.

The first step is simple. Stop imigration into the United States and deport all persons who are here illegally along with their children. You will immediately notice a dramatic "CHANGE" in the "gang world.' Now with the new and improved reality. You can begin to tackle the "gang culture" in an effective way. Until you do this, these ill conceived efforts will fail. This "new program" (really just an exploitation of tax-payer money) will come and go. The "gang culture" will stay.

Jeff carr is using his political powers to push out one of the best gang intervention agency in the city: Unity TWO, without no explaination. Why is Jeff Carr getting rid of Unity TWO, who has been working in gang intervention since 1997 and has a proven track record? Who will replace Unity TWO, in the 77th 11 area, when the city didn't have enough qualified gang agencies to meet the dead line for RFP and had to exstend the dead line just to get enough RFPs, to meet the proposal. Less then three months into the contracts Mayor Villaraigosa is approving the termination without explaination of Unity TWOs contract on July 31,2009. what is the secret termination of Unity TWO about? why want the city give a explaination and or disclose the information surrounding Unity TWOs termination. But if a gang incident occures tonight they will call that every agency to handle the gang situation. Pleas refer to the L.A. Times article " City want refund long time gang agency

The federal government has no legal standing in interfering with state and local matters, as stated in the tenth amendment of the U.S. Constitution. So, Obama needs to stay out of that matter.

I believe the $24Million dollar payoff will KEEP more gangs afloat and allow them to expand.
This is legal payola for voting another term for Tony Villar.

Has anybody informed President Obama about how the program pertaining to National Security has been tampered with? Yes National Security, Does one think L.A. Gangs really limit themselves solely to the City of Los Angeles? Does President Obama know how L.A. politicians are interferring with this program and the public's right to be informed? I don't think this was the type of accountability and transparancy he has been talking about since becoming President. Just like the Stimulus Package, the public has a right to know and have opinions on where the money is going and how it is being spent on these prevention programs. How can anyone expect to have a restored faith in public officials when these type of shenanigans keep going on.

This is a waste of money! If you are going to dump money, then direct it to the elementary level schools, that is where you want to start! Not when they are already a gang member. It's like sending a gang Cop/Investigator or gang specialist to The California Youth Authority or CDCR and attempt to conduct Gang Training. Another obstacle is the parents who need to be involved! How do you get them involved is a big task? Listen to all their excuses! Sincerly, Leo Duarte, Oct. 2006 Retired Special/Gang Agent CDCR
