IS L. A. SOFT ON CRIMINAL ALIEN GANGS?
Internet exclusive: On Full Disclosure® Video News Blog
Video Preview Time: Preview 9:51 min.
Release Date: June 7, 2008

Los Angeles, CA On March 8, 2008 an 18th Street gang member shot and killed 17 year old Jamiel Shaw, II, a popular high school football star just three doors from his home. The news that the accused killer, Pedro Espinosa, was an illegal alien who had been released from L. A. County jail, after serving only four months on assault and weapons charges, outraged the Shaw family and sent shock waves throughout the community.

In a Full Disclosure Network® special series, Jamiel Shaw, Sr. and U.S. Army Sgt. Anita Shaw, parents of the murder victim, describe the circumstances of the cold blooded shooting in their neighborhood. They also reveal the unusual and unexpected reactions from elected officials and law enforcement following their endorsement of a new law (Jamiel’s Law) to change the lenient city policy that prohibits police officers from enforcing immigration law or verifying immigration status of gang members.

Some of the developments described by the Shaws are:

  • The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office pressured the Shaw’s to stop criticizing the City’s controversial “don’t ask, don’t tell” immigration policy known as LAPD’s Special Order 40.
  • Los Angeles City Council members attempted to silence Shaw family members from speaking before the Council and urged them to drop their opposition to Special Order 40.
  • Deputy District Attorney Michele Hanisee informed the Shaws that the D.A.’s office was prepared to claim the murder was gang related and in order to do so the D.A. would contend that their son was a gang member.
  • The Shaws detail their outrage regarding the Deputy District Attorney’s stated intentions to tarnish their popular son’s reputation. They cite the facts that their son had no gang affiliations, no police records whatsoever and to the contrary was praised as role model by teachers and all who knew him.

This two part series is to be featured on 45 cable systems and is available on DVD from the web site at www.fulldisclosure.net. A preview of the program is also featured on the YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/FullDisclosureNetwrk.

The illegal Gang Members need to be deported or sent to TDC Texas Department Corrections, not California Prison Systems or a Prison System Angolia, they will never want to be in the system again after doing time at these places. Caliofornia Prison Systems are recruiting grounds and being with their homy families. Send them to one of thetwo institutions that I have mention and beleive me you will not have this problem when they know that these tow places are instore for them. The reason why we have the problem that we have with these gang members and that is any gang members is that the system laws are too easy with the offense or case. Need to have the Laws change as a thiord counrty law system for Ganb Bangers and that will get rid of the problem, but as long as you continue to be soft withthe laws like they are, you will continue to feed the problem. TDC Texas Department of Corrections or Angolia I gurantee that will resolve a lot of your return problems.

Vicky: Special Order 40 is NOT a law, it is a policy implemented back in 1979 by then LAPD Chief Daryl Gates. There is great controversy over how this policy is being implemented. Apparently police officers are confused as to what they should and should not do, as a result of the Federal Consent Decree regarding racial profiling, many officers simply avoid dealing with illegal aliens for fear of violating the Federal Consent Decree. The Shaw Family and author Walter Moore have proposed a to enact a law, by initiative, called Jamiel's Law, that would change Special Order 40. They want to remove the confusion and make it easier for the LAPD officers to determine if gang members are in the country illegally.

I would like to read special order 40. Does this law apply to illegal felons only or does everyone get deported?

Gang Violence is far out of control. California is being taken over by Gangs and thier violent behavior as well as destruction.Americans watch in fear as even our goverment weighs votes against doing the right for this country.Already Americans are being run out of California.I have never been racial but what has happened ,it does make one angry.

I thank the Shaw family for standing up for common sense. Shame on the L.A. politicians.
The Newark Mayor, Cory Booker, and City Council put their heads in the sand last September (less than 1 month after the heinous Newark executions). Shame on the Newark politicians.

There are too few opportunities in the US for so many illegals, particularly those who have some type of racial hate for Blacks. How dare they come here illegally and perpetrate violence on a people who helped build this nation and who are still maligned because of the color of their skin.
The drug culture coming from Mexico is frightening. It seems that the Mexicans have lost sight of human tolerance.
The borders should be closed and monitored immediately. All illegals should be sent back or jailed and Vilarigosa should be run out of office.
Whenever I go to the Home Depot for materials, there are literally 100's of Latinos standing around waiting to be picked up for work. Those who are not picked up, remain on the lot all day long, urinating and defecating in allies and in surrounding neighborhoods.
Lou Dobbs has it right!!!!!
Why should my children suffer because meager resourses are helping illegals whether it be for health services, education or aid of any kind.

AND NOW THEY WANT TO KILL US!!!!!!!

GET THEM OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Victor how would you know that the killer gangs are U.S. Citizens? Even the police don't know that, they don't even bother to ask! It is time for you to go back home.

Far more people in Los Angeles are murdered as a result of gang violence by US citizens than by illegal aliens. When was the last time an illegal alien killed someone in LA before Jamiel? And there have been about 100 murders since Jamiel that no one cares about, because the assailant was not illegal. Focusing on this one illegal alien creates a smoke screen for looking at the true problem - gang violence!!!!!!!!!!

Jim Rizoli, not all Blacks are against Mexicans and illegal immigrants as you are, and your view is exactly what divides the black community. This page here is obviously against illegal immigrants and holding up this one murder to highlight a rare event is exploiting this family who was so naive to what their son was involved with.
No one on here, including the Shaw family are speaking against the gang violence that is ripping their own community and they have another son. We can't have young Black men walking the streets of Los Angeles thinking that it is cool to flash gang signs, write graffiti, wear red in a gang context, and post gang taunts on the internet.

Don't we need to take responsibility for our actions? Is everyone on this forum here saying it is OK the life style Jamiel was living claiming Bloods?

The Blacks better get off their asses and look at this illegal immigration thing for what it really is.
