Los Angeles, CA On March 8, 2008 an 18th Street gang member shot and killed 17 year old Jamiel Shaw, II, a popular high school football star just three doors from his home. The news that the accused killer, Pedro Espinosa, was an illegal alien who had been released from L. A. County jail, after serving only four months on assault and weapons charges, outraged the Shaw family and sent shock waves throughout the community.

In a Full Disclosure Network® special series, Jamiel Shaw, Sr. and U.S. Army Sgt. Anita Shaw, parents of the murder victim, describe the circumstances of the cold blooded shooting in their neighborhood. They also reveal the unusual and unexpected reactions from elected officials and law enforcement following their endorsement of a new law (Jamiel’s Law) to change the lenient city policy that prohibits police officers from enforcing immigration law or verifying immigration status of gang members.

Some of the developments described by the Shaws are:

  • The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office pressured the Shaw’s to stop criticizing the City’s controversial “don’t ask, don’t tell” immigration policy known as LAPD’s Special Order 40.
  • Los Angeles City Council members attempted to silence Shaw family members from speaking before the Council and urged them to drop their opposition to Special Order 40.
  • Deputy District Attorney Michele Hanisee informed the Shaws that the D.A.’s office was prepared to claim the murder was gang related and in order to do so the D.A. would contend that their son was a gang member.
  • The Shaws detail their outrage regarding the Deputy District Attorney’s stated intentions to tarnish their popular son’s reputation. They cite the facts that their son had no gang affiliations, no police records whatsoever and to the contrary was praised as role model by teachers and all who knew him.

This two part series is to be featured on 45 cable systems and is available on DVD from the web site at www.fulldisclosure.net. A preview of the program is also featured on the YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/FullDisclosureNetwrk.

This country has become a society of weak, spineless people. No one wants to speak up and take a stand against the decline of American to a third world nation.
What is needed is law and order and to never tolerate those that are out to commit crime and put fear into the law abiding citizens.
Los Angeles politicians for the most part are bleeding liberals who are scared to go against the gangs, etc.
I feel bad for the young adults, children, etc that are going to grow up in this kind of society.
Time for the revolution to begin.
Power To The People.

I am sorry for your loss Mr&Mrs. shaw I am very please to hear you got the signatures you needed. I am from Orange County but would have signed in a heart beat if I was allowed.

what a huge slap in the face while Mrs. Shaw is fighting for our rights and protecting our way of life on our soils, our own government is protecting illegals. Illegal immigration gets my blood boiling. It is not about color it is about wrong. It is about a law we have as well as every other country. What is the point of having a law if we do not uphold it? Go to another country,(well try with out proper papers..GOOD LUCK!) get pulled over, try to get a job or break another law on top of being illegally. They deport you so fast your head spins. Has our government officials got so far off track and corrupt that they need criminals to get them elected they turn a blind eye or are they just a bunch of sissies? Kudos Shaw family for not backing down for being on the "RIGHT" side. While you're at it, can you pass more laws on immigration:
Babies born are the Citizen of the mother.
No more free hand outs: why are we giving free medical care, in-state college tuition for illegal immigrants when ILLEGAL immigrants should not and do not have the right to be here. That is what attracts them to begin with and where all the trouble starts. Why then are we rewarding them with free medical and education when they are breaking the law? In cities where some of our Citizens all ready struggling to get to by, illegal immigrants are taking the fork right of their mouths. Medical care? Expensive, can't afford it? don't blame doctors, they have the rigth to make a living, after all YOU wouldn't work for free. Blame your government officials for passing laws that allows illegal immigrants to get free medical and education while you're struggling just to go in for a cold and blame the illegals for stealing our tax dollars to pay for their butts when they knowingly come over to collect free benefits while most Americans don't have medical coverage. Why? Because instead of the government enforcing immigration laws and deporting them, which would free up so much money to lower the cost of medical etc, they allow our taxes to pay for their illegal butts. How come people don't see that??
I guess if we are stupid enough to let them, they'll keep on taking while they wave their flag in our face and spouting out LA RAZA
SHAW FAMILY while you have the public eye. Take it further. If we stop rewarding illegal immigrants with all our free benefits like Oklahomoa just did (guess what? the illegals left the state in droves!) then that would free up so much money to help our own citizens PLUS get a lot of the illegal aliens out of here easier so what happen to Jamiel will lessen the chances of killing innocent people.

One last email I got today you might want to take a stand and you will find MCCAIN backing amnesty as well:
"Sen. Reid told reporters that he expects a minimum fight against passing an amnesty for the 12-20 million illegal aliens. If we don't prove Sen. Reid wrong immediately (that is, that there will be a huge, noisy, bruising fight), Senators may start to believe that it now is safe to plan to bring the amnesty to a vote. The Washington Post yesterday had an article stating that it is a foregone conclusion that the DREAM Act amnesty will pass early in the year!As always, you can also reach all the Senators' Washington D.C. offices through the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121." This came on the heels of Obama’s appointment of Cecelia Munoz,
a high-ranking La Raza executive, to a key post. Munoz has
been in charge of La Raza's legislative and lobbying efforts.
She will now be Obama’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs
and will serve as the chief administration liaison with state
and local governments.

How can we help the Shaw's pass Jamiel's law? I want to be a part of this. I too, have been personally affected by a criminal illegal alien ordered to deport and I got NO SUPPORT!
I voted for Obama but he too is concerned about the Latino vote. (So was/is McCain) According to Numbers USA Obama & McCain are trying to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. This is a problem with local, state, and federal officials.
The power is in the hands of the people. We have to do what is right.
I also encourage the Shaw family to contact Ted Hayes if they have not already as he is familiar with this problem of illegal immigration.

Send em' back, lock the gate and throw away the key. They're dirtying up our city in more ways than one. It's just plain ignorance to be in a gang. Illegal aliens breed gang members. They sneak into this country and refuse to learn english, steal our ss#'s. They don't teach their children right from wrong.. and this is our future??? Have another baby on us, all free today!!! I'm sick of it all:(

Send these gang banging murderers to a gulag in Siberia or a chain gang in China; that will wake them up if they live through it.

Blaming this killing on illegal aliens is a very divisive and misleading campaign that is only causing more tension in the community. This show has also skewed the facts and does not mention that this is a reciprocal cycle. They (the producers and the Shaws included) have chosen to ignore the black on brown killings. They do not mention the Hoover Crip gang, Tree Top Piru's, or the numerous other black gangs that prey on innocent latinos regardless of their citizenship.

THE SHAW'S ARE GREAT AMERICANS,MRS. SHAW SERVING OUR COUNTRY , WHILE THE MAYOR, POLICE CHIEL, AND CITY COUNSEL MEMBERS ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MURDERS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY, AND THEY ARE COMITTED DAILY BY MOSTLY " 80% " ILLEGAL GANG MEMBERS WHO HAVE FREE SAILING WHILE WE AMERICANS ARE BEING MURDERED, RAPED, AND ALL OTHER CRIMES. OUR ELECTED --NEEED TO BE DEPORTED TO MEXICO ! THIS WOULD BE GREAT REVENGE FOR WE AMERICAN CITIZENS.

The illegal Gang Members need to be deported or sent to TDC Texas Department Corrections, not California Prison Systems or a Prison System Angolia, they will never want to be in the system again after doing time at these places. Caliofornia Prison Systems are recruiting grounds and being with their homy families. Send them to one of thetwo institutions that I have mention and beleive me you will not have this problem when they know that these tow places are instore for them. The reason why we have the problem that we have with these gang members and that is any gang members is that the system laws are too easy with the offense or case. Need to have the Laws change as a thiord counrty law system for Ganb Bangers and that will get rid of the problem, but as long as you continue to be soft withthe laws like they are, you will continue to feed the problem. TDC Texas Department of Corrections or Angolia I gurantee that will resolve a lot of your return problems.
