Los Angeles, CA. The FULL DISCLOSURE NETWORK® presents an exclusive two-part program examining the awesome challenge faced by Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona as he begins his battle against political corruption charges in the Federal Court system . Appearing in the programs are:

  • Sheriff Mike Carona, Orange County, California
  • Anthony Patchett, Former Special Assistant District Attorney (Los Angeles)
  • Jan L. Handzlik, Partner of the Howery, LLP law firm & a former Federal prosecutor
  • Mark H. Allenbaugh, former Staff Attorney U. S. Sentencing Guidelines Commission and partner Allenbaugh-Samini, LLP
  • Leslie Dutton, FULL DISCLOSURE NETWORK® host

The programs are being featured on 45 cable systems and available in their entirety on the Internet (FREE) for a short period of time from links below. Thereafter, the Internet access will be available to FULL DISCLOSURE NETWORK® subscribers only.
Here are just few of the points made in by legal experts the one-hour program:

  • Sheriff Carona states at the outset he believes the Federal Court system is fair
  • Is the Federal system free from politics regarding who to prosecute and who not to? Questions have been raised in a number of recent cases
  • Legal experts raise signifigant issues with the sentencing guidelines and plea agreements that they say are unfair
  • Innocent defendants are forced to plead guilty to avoid "Draconian" sentences handed out under the Federal guidelines
  • Defendants who plead guilty are also forced to waive their right to appeal harsh sentences
  • Vast majority of defendants who plead innocent are found guilty of crimes not related to their indictments. i.e. (perjury, obstructing justice, etc.)...the reason, it is too difficult for the Feds to prove their case on initial charges.
  • An astounding 95 to 97 % of all individuals Indicted plead guilty in the Federal system

SHOCKING that there appear to be NO "checks and balances" on the US Attys. And the way they pile on more counts, just to make the defendant cop a plea...it's just not fair, and it's certainly not justice! This also happens with county attys and DA's, so it's not just a Federal thing. Rather, it's about a self-perpetuating system which has spun out of the control of The People.

Can't wait to hear the Haidle-Carona tapes played in court. That is going to be really interesting.

Sheriff Arpio from maricopa county, arizona is blatenly violating the civil rights. he is breaking the law based on his dictator theology in violation of the american constitution. when it comes to human rights ..no one is illegal.

sheriff arpio is a criminal with a badge .. a rogue cop. I look forward to his indictment.

Who's Next ? Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Are the Feds going to go after that Sheriff too? Just because he takes a Stand For America and a Stand Against Illegal Aliens.

Corona had an electrifying effect on the confidence level of the public whrn he made his'we're coming to get you statement in the Samantha Runyon case. Heidel's son is a sociopath and his father did everything to keep the kid out of jail where he belongs: Who's guilty of what? This is same ole shallow reporting not full disclosure of anything.corona would have been an easy sho in for CA gov or even president - I say this as a confirmed democrat who would have seriously considered voting for him - why isn't that part of your presentation? Do you have no idea how dangerous it is to be so charismatic? Have you forgotten what happened to JFK and RFK??

Why isn't Cheif Bratton facing Federal Charges for violating USC 1324(a) - (f) Aiding and abeting illegal aliens?

I agree that the Federal system is completely unfair. What can be done to help change this? My husband is in Federal Prison and also agreed to a plea agreement because of the fear of the harsh imprisonment he could receive. He could have received 10 yrs. and plead for 3 to 5. The judge imposed a 5 yr. sentence on consiracy charges although nothing was found in my husband's possesion.

I think after viewing this that Carona should stay in office until this has all been sorted out. I want to see real evidence at a trial. Are Haidl and Jaramillo speaking against Carona because the Federal prosecutors have pressured and intimidated them? I hope Carona does not plead out. I hope he survives this perilous journey. Who corrects this unethical process? As far as where is the mainstream media?.......They are only looking for ratings. Their sources are trash newspapers and anything or anyone else they can find to bring a person down or make it more titillating. Thank you for this information. Perhaps these two lawyers who are so familiar with this biased system can help correct the system.

If Sheriff Carona is at long last found to be not guilty then are his legals fees paid by the federal government? I have heard that in County cases that if someone defends himself and wins that the county pays his legal fees. If the federal prosecutors were hot dogs and overly aggressive or even sloppy in their prosecution of the sheriff are there any checks or balances? Apparently not! This is so hard to believe that it is so one sided. What made up their evidence? Was it people saying all sorts of things without being challenged? We did the federal prosecutors pick Carona to go after? Did this Jaramillo intice them with his lies or was it Carona's stance against the illegal immigrant criminals that got the attention of the federal system.

I agree with Marshall. I don't think that the Feds have handled this right if they were truly trying to the the right thing for the right reason. Why did they put him in shackles? Why did they not seal this indictment? Why did they word it they way they did "longtime mistress?" It seems like they are trying to make this all the more appealing to be picked up by they media.
