Los Angeles, CA - In a new six-minute video news blog taped just before the Feb. 4th prison riot at the L. A. County Pitchess Detention Center, Sheriff Leroy Baca told the Full Disclosure NetworkT that the Federal Government "should pay more attention to the (illegal alien) criminals in our jails and reimburse us for the cost". "It is a political issue with the Federal Government and local government", he said.

Baca went on to tell Full Disclosure Network™ host Leslie Dutton, that the Feds should "focus on the criminals; it would require investing billions of dollars in their own agents to stop criminal aliens from re-entering the nation once they have been deported". He said 70 percent of the criminal illegal aliens who are incarcerated in the County jails have been deported four and five times, only to return again illegally.

Also appearing in the video news blog is Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona who suggests that undocumented criminals should be transferred out of the local jails to the Federal system to deal with the immigration issues.

Baca has come under fire for segregating African-American and Hispanic inmates to quell the unrest. In a historical video clip, the late Sheriff Sherman Block describes how he segregated prisoners due to the overcrowding and dangerous conditions in the county jails.

Also included in this video is exclusive footage of inmates rioting at L. A. County's Pitchess Detention Center in an earlier violence outbreak in 1996. This six-minute video blog actually shows the racial unrest caused by massive over-crowding in Southern California jails. Inmates are shown fighting fiercely, throwing mattresses, chairs, bed frames and anything they can get their hands on to use as a weapon.
