Ice Cube had a lyric in a song a few years back that went something like this "Go ahead and try to ban the AK, $hit wasn't registered any fuckin' way." In other words criminals are the ones that have guns. Unarm everyone else and your just a target for the ones with guns. Cops included. Baca's idea that "you take someone with you" only gives the criminal two people to rob! More money for them, thank you Sheriff Baca. His other point of issuing permits to victims of violent crime means to me that had you had a way to to prevent becoming a victim (ccw permit), you might not be needing one now, but since you got your ass kicked for whatever reason, NOW you need a way to defend yourself. That's Bassackwards if ya ask me.

any retired police officer that had POST training, in good standing, willing to pass evalualations, attend manditory refreshing clsss, and shoot proficiently, should qualify for a ccw

Shall issue states have irrefutable prove that arming citezens reduce crime, take a look at Vermont, California is a Ciommunist State when it comes to the Second ammendment. Look at Crime in CA vs. Shal Issue states. The stats speaks for itself. I would NEVER, EVER visit CA or vacation in CA to spend a red cent in taxes or fee's to the Great Failed State of CA

Bill Hunt has given me hope for a CCW, and so I support him wholeheartedly.

that idiot from Orange county, is stupid. Read Dr. Lott's book "More guns, less crime" Anyway, I carry and always will. In order to protect my life. No police man will take a bullet for you. You have to take your own action. First of all, I would challenge him in court over the right to self protection, I would rather be tried by twelve then carried by six. but remember this, with this right comes a big responsibility, if you shoot someone to protect you and your family, the state of California has made it very easy for the criminal's family to sue you, so if you shoot a person, make dame sure you kill him. And to that bald headed cop that thinks he is going to protect me, bull shit to you. I'll protect myself. because I will be carrying when going into his town of Mexican criminals. Shoot first and ask questions later. By the way I was trained at "Front Site" were they train you in self defense. And police departments send there own at this school.

We should have the right to protect ourselves, especially when there isn't policing agencies out their to protect you.

how sad that upstanding good citizens of the community suffer from the inane laws politicians enact to further their own agenda's -> BE CAREFULL law abiding americans, we keep slowly chiseling OUR constitution by staying silent and not voting.

With the current rhetoric Sec. of State H. Clinton has been saying....All of the guns in Mexico the drug dealers are using to kill each other comes from us to the north - um, since when did we legally sell full aut weapons?! do you think these drug dealers are walking into big 5 sporting shops to fill out paperork, wait 10 days & then come back & pick up a gun?!? The black market for weapons will always exist, just look to our capitol Washington DC - shootings & murders still happen all the time EVEN with a gun ban - CCW scares criminals enough that crime gets reduced.

As an American - I'd like to thank all of our armed foces for their courage, dedication, protection, love of country and I LOVE THE USA just like you. Mr. Pete Blanchard, Thank you for your service. I apoligize to you sir that the a few legislators, politicians and other gov. officials can hinder all of our rights. Especially for a person like yourself that has a proven history gun know how.

CALIFORNIANS do something - write your elected officialls, VOTE, speak up people we keep standing silent, get taxed and abused - lets all do something to get rid of these people. Thank you

I missed one thing.
Dr. Lott's study showed that crime rates dropped by more the 25% in each state. I would rather be trialed by 12 then be carried by six. The penal code allows persons to carry if they feel their live's are in danger.
