Orange County, CA .. The Full Disclosure Network® presents Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, the National Rifle Association’s Ed Worley and , former OC Sheriff Lt. Bill Hunt in a video news report covering the new policy implemented by Sheriff Hutchins regarding issuing CCW’s in Orange County.

During the 15 minute video, citizen gun owners who attended a hearing before the Orange County Board of Supervisors testified their dissatisfaction with the Sheriff, a political appointee and her new policy. Many speakers suggested that she has her own agenda, is intending to impose the undesireable policies of Los Angeles County on the citizens of Orange County. The Board of Supervisors came under fire for having appointed someone who does not represent the concerns of the citizens.

Sheriff Hutchens stood her ground refuting the interpretation of her new policy saying “I do not see this as a Second Amendment Issue. The policy does not impact the right to have a gun at home or in a place of business.”

Bill Hunt, who is expected to challenge Sheriff Hutchens in the 2010 election was critical of Sheriff and other Police Chief’s who do not share the fundamental beliefs in values held in the communities which they serve.

The following points were made during the citizen testimony:

  • Why should permits be given only to those who transport large sums of money?
  • Personal protection and family protection should be considered as primary issue
  • Restricting use of Concealed Carry Weapon permits does not make the county safer.

Viewers are asked to participate in an opinion survey at the end of the video and to leave comments on the video blog for discussion.

We, as americans decide our laws not government. We as americans have a right to bare and cary all weapons we want. Thats what made america awesome. That freedom!!

Self Protection should be the only cause for a CCW.

This is what happens when you allow others, who are far removed from your day-to-day experience, make decisions for you based upon unfounded fear..do you know the origins of gun control in the US?

it's the damn 2nd ammendment.. Anyone should carry a weapon to protect themselves against any threat. Especially a threat from the government wich is guaranteed to want to step over our rights and govern us any way they would like.. That is why the founding fathers created that ammendment in the first place

We have a "will issue" law on the books, and absolutely nobody who has a permit has ever comitted a crime. We carry to protect ourselves from criminals, and protect anyone else from being harmed by an criminal act of violence. California needs to have a "will issue" law on the books. Elect legislators who will change the law.

You have to be an idiot not to think that the gang members don't carry guns. If the legal people are not armed they are victims.

As a ret US Marine, I do have the back round and ability to carry a fire arm. I have taken the same oath as law enforcement has, I want to be able to protect my family. If they had there way we would have not guns in CA. I do believe that if the criminals knew that there were more armed citizens it would reduce crime. I always tell people "why don't you think this country has never been invaded" because they know we are armed. It is said there are not enough cops on the streets, thats why the 2nd amendment is there for. any way, thank you for all of your hard work.

The right of an individual to bear arms will not be infringed! Public Officials who seek to disarm American citizens by any means shall be dismissed from public service in all cases!

Yes, our streets and communities would be safer with law abiding citizens carrying concealed weapons.

I don't think people should need a permit in the first place. The right to bear arms is a self-evident right and therefore needs NO legislation. (However, in the event of convicted murderers, theives, etc..., the people can choose whether to allow a particular person to carry.)
