Orange County, CA .. The Full Disclosure Network® presents Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, the National Rifle Association’s Ed Worley and , former OC Sheriff Lt. Bill Hunt in a video news report covering the new policy implemented by Sheriff Hutchins regarding issuing CCW’s in Orange County.

During the 15 minute video, citizen gun owners who attended a hearing before the Orange County Board of Supervisors testified their dissatisfaction with the Sheriff, a political appointee and her new policy. Many speakers suggested that she has her own agenda, is intending to impose the undesireable policies of Los Angeles County on the citizens of Orange County. The Board of Supervisors came under fire for having appointed someone who does not represent the concerns of the citizens.

Sheriff Hutchens stood her ground refuting the interpretation of her new policy saying “I do not see this as a Second Amendment Issue. The policy does not impact the right to have a gun at home or in a place of business.”

Bill Hunt, who is expected to challenge Sheriff Hutchens in the 2010 election was critical of Sheriff and other Police Chief’s who do not share the fundamental beliefs in values held in the communities which they serve.

The following points were made during the citizen testimony:

  • Why should permits be given only to those who transport large sums of money?
  • Personal protection and family protection should be considered as primary issue
  • Restricting use of Concealed Carry Weapon permits does not make the county safer.

Viewers are asked to participate in an opinion survey at the end of the video and to leave comments on the video blog for discussion.

Why is so much time, effort and money wasted on stopping citizens from doing things they are not doing to begin with. They think more gun control against law biding citizens is going to stop crimes like "drive-by shootings". When are there going to be laws against crime organizations like "gangs" the ones who are committing the drive-by shootings. All gang bangers carry guns because the law does nothing about them. They continue to thrive and grow stronger and stronger while the law continues make citizens weaker and weaker. I can't get a permit to carry while I live in an area that is controlled by gangs who do carry. My area by the way is county territory supposedly controlled by the Sherriffs Dept. Anyone with any sense at all knows that if there is a clear message that citizens can and will defend themselves with deadly force if necessary then crimes like rape, mugging, assalt and car-jacking will be practically non-existant. Remember the L.A. riots? It would not have escalated to the point it did if the media did'nt announce on all channels that "the police are not going to do anything" Which by the way happens to be why they exist and what we pay them to do. If the scales keep tipping in the favor of the criminals and against the citizens then God help us. Hope someone can find some use for my insight.

I dont understand why we need to make the 2nd amendment a political or debatable right. Are we regulating other rights on a state by state basis like free speech? NO. Punish criminals more severely, dont bury the lawful citizens in legislation and paperwork, background checks etc.

The fact that Hutchens won't concent to an interview is so amazingly telling, to me.

Time for California to get real. If police are not obligated to protect individuals, we should have the right and tools to protect ourselves and our families.

You should allow your videos to be downloaded... They are far more valuable being circulated than they are just locked here on your site.

Mr. Hunt will be getting my vote. We need a Sheriff willing to abide by the Constitution and protect citizens' rights.
