Los Angeles, CA.   According to a December 23, 2008 report written by Daniel Heimpel, Investigative Journalist in the L A Weekly publication L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa’s new gang prevention and intervention program is going to protect the identity of fifty individuals who will be deciding which non-profit gang organizations will get generous city grants for prevention and intervention activities, only in the high violence areas of the City.

The Full Disclosure Network® presents an eleven minute exclusive video news blog revealing that approximately $24 million taxpayer dollars will be doled out to groups that have both gang members and former gang members on their staffs.   The area targeted is the high violence areas of the city, according to the City's new Gang Czar.  Appearing in the video are:

  • Rev. Jeff Carr, Gang Czar and  Los Angeles Deputy Mayor
  • Daniel Heimpel, L A Weekly Investigative Journalist
  • Leslie Dutton, Host, Full Disclosure Network

In the video Heimpel describes his interview with Rev. Jeff Carr and his response to the questions raised about the unusual procedures being used the Mayors office to select the grant recipients, which any effort toward providing transparency.

Rev. Carr describes the Mayor’s gang program and the  prevention and intervention strategies and reassures Full Disclosure that the young adults working in the program would include persons who have been incarcerated but have been redeemed.

Way to go... We have plenty of money, huh???

Please. This is not a "corrupt political scheme" to give money to supporters of the mayor. Detractors and distractors need to put their noisy egos aside so we can focus on healing the real problems that plague our city.

People talk and are concerned for the community.

Mr. Santich, come back for excessive anger management, gambling addiction, sexual/porno addiction rehab. Your anger upon the community is sadly misplaced and hurting the good people of San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City and Watts. An intervention just might be in order after your latest outbursts and it is sad.

Let's concentrate on programs that change the reason kids join gangs in the first place: SOLUTIONS. Re: Anthony Santich's latest angry, false, anti-Hahn slur/letter herein, read the facts and STOP wasting our time with your angry misstatement of pertinent facts. He is an embarrassment to the entire Harbor area!

What should be important to all
of us is the effect that the
organization has on helping gang
members change that lifestyle.

Anthony Santich needs to shut up and get a life. The Fox news story was proven to be false by numerous, credible outlets. Why does he still clings to slander and anger? What a joke.

The Heimpel kid really is on to something. Good reporting, too bad he'll be laid off and driving a cab like every other print journalist in the country soon.

Daniel has a good olfactory sense! I'm not sure why Daniel's inquiries couldn't be answered with two more phone calls to City Hall this afternoon.

Good job "Full Disclosure" I was linked to this by an email from David Hernandez. The City of LA seems to be giving gifts of public funds to all sorts of non-public uses and programs that don't protect the people. This is true for these gang programs and for real estate development.

THis is just the latest chapter in the book, "And Just How Corrupt ARE L.A. Politicians?"
I think we are just being too damn POLITE!! Most people in this city are clueless...and want to stay that way. The only solution is to move if the general public doesn't wake up.
