Los Angeles, CA Is the prosecution guilty of ethics violations in the Jamiel Shaw murder case? Full Disclosure Network® presents an eight minute Video News Blog featuring family members of murdered high school football star, Jamiel Shaw, II who was gunned down just three doors from his home. Police have arrested Pedro Espinosa, an illegal alien gangbanger who was released early from L.A. County jail after serving four months for weapons charges and assault on a police officer.
Appearing in the video are the victim’s aunt Althea Shaw and father Jamiel Shaw,Sr. describing why the family members have filed an Ethics Complaint with the State Bar and District Attorney's Office against the Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Michele Hannisee. Also providing background on the State Bar complaint process is former Co-Chair of the State Bar Disciplinary Committee Deputy D A Steve Ipsen.
A few days prior to his re-election, District Attorney Steve Cooley removed the Deputy DA Michele Hanisee from the case. This also followed Mr. Shaw Sr.’s appearance on radio talk shows to expose the fact that she had been pressuring the family to stop speaking out against LAPD’s Special Order 40, “the don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that prevents police officers from asking individuals if they are in the country legally and Mr. Shaw said she told them she was going to describe the victim as a gangbanger because she needed a motive for the murder. According to law enforcement authorities Jamiel Shaw, II had no police record, never been arrested and has never had contact with school police or been suspended from school.
This Video News Blog on the Shaw’s complaint is also featured on the YouTube Channel along with other videos that are available for sharing. Full Disclosure® will be providing periodic updates on the case and following the progress on the “Jamiel’s Law” campaign to revise Special Order 40.

This family has experienced the loss of child; it is disgusting, to say the least, for the DA, who's assigned to prosecute the suspect, is in essence prosecuting the victim, who is no longer here to "defend" himself! God Bless the Shaw Family!

Not only is it unethical, but it's just plain stupid. You fight Evil to win; or don't fight it at all. That's the problem with the current war against Islamic extremism, and it was the main reason America lost the war in Vietnam.

My family has also suffered from the same unethical behavior from DDA Michele Hanisee. My son was sentence to 400+ yrs to life at the hands of this prosecutor. He also lacked prior convictions. She had filed a false subpoena to request my medical records that was requested by Defense,I was to be his alibi witness. I signed a release of information for the defense with specific information concerning my Brain Tumor only with specific dates. was It was requested by Defense for conditional purposes only. Instead she re-edited the subpoena by stating that my son had committed a 187(a) upon me and she needed my medical records to prove the extent of my injuries inflicted upon me so that she could prosecute him for that crime. This was untrue,I have a Brain Tumor and was scheduled to have surgery prior to start of trial. The request was to take my deposition prior to start of trial only. There has been a lot of misconduct that transpired on his case, like violation of court orders,re-editing of statements and tapes, exclusion of witnesses that would have proven his innocence. She needs to be dis-bared or even prosecuted. How many other innocent people have suffered from her actions. Her cases need to be under review rather her misconduct is against a defendent or victim. I also filed a complaint with The State Bar. I also sent out many letters hoping someone would hear my cries for help. Something needs to be done against DDA Michele Hanisee, this person who took a oath to uphold the laws, ends up breaking the same laws she prosecute others for. She was on the Jamiel Shaw's case at the same time she was on my son's case. No one else needs to suffer at the hands of this Deputy District Attorney. I have proof to verify all that I have stated. Both of our rights have been violated. To The Shaw Family although we were on the opposite side of the table in the courtroom, I feel your pain. Where is our Justice?

I to am being pressured to testify against my husband by Los Angeles District Attorney Johne B. Evans he said if I don't testify he would take my children to foster care not with family members as well as filing charges against me for purgery in which I never testified or wrote anything under penalty of purgery but if your low income you really don't have any options but to go along with there threats. Now my children will be with out a father as I a husband. The D.A also told me he doesn't care about my family problems that they are mine and he see's this stuff all the time. Is'nt he supposed to represent the people not treat us like dirt.

This is unfathomable. This city has has sold its soul. Politicians who lick their fingers to guage the direction of the wind and hide their heads in the sand are at the bottom of the totem pole, yet your typical leader in L. A. They have become indifferent to the people they serve. And it's only going to get worse since most Angelinos are spineless and won't take a stand on this issue. How cowardly can you be to allow an illegal element to influence your decision making? Pathetic.

I believe Special Order 40, was not intended to keep the LAPD from working with the INS or hinder them from reporting violators, instead it allowed police officers to focus on gathering needed information for investigative purposes from individuals, including illegal aliens and gang members who may be reluctant to speak to law enforcement for fear of deportation due to their immigration status. To serve a greater good, law enforcement's Special Order 40 has sort of, made a deal with the devil (gang members).

Let's see: four months is total time served for weapons charges, assault on a police officer AND, THIS MURDERING BASTARD IS NOT A CITIZEN OF THIS COUNTRY. Way to go, California. And the system plays CYA by going after the victim? Wake up out there in La-La Land. America is sick of your kind of "non-thinking" solutions to gut wrenching problems. Jamiel Shaw has paid the ultimate sacrifice for America's stupidy and we will not allow him to be further victimized!!! You rotten low down.....

It appears to me that young Jamiel Shaw is being targeted a second time because of the color of his skin -- first by an illegal alien gang member and again by a government-paid protector of illegal aliens. This sort of thing is to be expected from an attorney for the accused, but a prosecutor literally threatening to make the victim the accused as well goes beyond the boundaries of human decency.
I think the underlying message from the so-called "prosecutor" to the Shaw family was that it would be easy to sell the notion that young Jamiel was a gang member because he's black and because of where he lived, so the Shaws had just better back down on their criticism of Sp. Order 40 or see their lost loved one's memory -- which is all they have left -- publicly defiled.
I think it also deserves acknowledgement that the Shaws clearly possess uncommon courage. May God bless them.
